Car Rental New Zealand - Easy Rates

All rates are in New Zealand $ and inclusive of GST (12.5% New Zealand sales tax), unlimited mileage (4 days min.), insurance in excess of NZ$1500 or deductible (for driver over 21 yrs age), New Zealand Automobile Association  24-hr emergency & breakdown assistance. One to three days hire only available on stand-by basis and mileage charge applies. Rentals that fall into two (or more) seasonal rates will be calculated using each rate category. Please refer to Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) page for examples. Borderline rental period (14 days,  21 days and 28 days) could qualify for the next rate if it is beneficial to the hirer although one extra day is charged.

CHRISTMAS and NEW YEAR: period of rentals that cover mainly these holidays are subject to 10% extra charge on top of the published rates. Hires that span much longer beyond these two major holidays are not subject to the additional charge.

Vehicle insurance: All our vehicles are covered by a comprehensive insurance for property damage including third party's in excess (deductible) of NZ$1500 for drivers over 21 years of age. NZ ARCCO (Associated Rental Car Co.) Standard insurance policy and its exclusions apply.

Optional Insurance Premium to reduce the excess are available for hires of 4 days or more and for drivers over 25 years of age and have held a driviners licence for more than 3 years. For the first 30 days : $8/day to reduce the excess to $250 or $10/day to nil, half the rate for the remaining time.

Windscreen Damage Waiver (WDW) is available for $2.20/day (min $22 max $39)

We do not guarantee a specific model within each vehicle category.

Restricted roads: Unsealed roads, Ninety Mile Beach(Northland), Ball Hutt Road (Mt.Cook), Crown Range Road (Queenstown), Skippers Road (Queenstown), any beach or off road activity.

One way hires: Only between Auckland and Christchurch. Subject to availability and some charges may apply. Minimum hire period for one way is 14 days.

Cook Strait Crossing: we are only based in Auckland and Christchurch so we could not provide vehicle change over in Wellington or Picton. We are more than happy to assist you to book the ferry. More information regarding the ferry can be found from www.bluebridge.co.nz and www.interislander.co.nz  There are some discounted fares that can only be booked from within NZ.

Airport transfer: free airport transfer and to/from motels within 15km radius during normal hours (08.00 - 17.00). Call 0800-775-775 (Auckland) or 0800-288-699 (Christchurch) on arrival - after getting through the immigrations etc.

Late night / early morning arrival or departure. Prior arrangement must be made for this service. A small fee of $15 plus parking fee may apply. Please inquire.

Fuel: all vehicles are delivered with full fuel in the tank and are to be returned in full. All our fleet use unleaded gasoline of 91octane rating (regular gasoline). Presently price is hovering around NZ$1.50/Lt.

Payment: VISA, MASTERCARD credit cards, EFTPOS and CASH are welcome. We apologise to holders of other credit cards.

Reservation: A non refundable deposit of 10% or a minimum of NZ$100 by credit card may be required to secure the reservation. When picking up the vehicle, this sum will be deducted from total hire charge. We apologise in some cases we could not reserve short term rent much in advance (say, one week rent 3 months in advance).

Child safety seat: free (one only)

Traffic infringement: (speed camera, parking violation etc) for the hired vehicle will paid on behalf of the hirer plus administrative fee NZ$15 per infringement.
